The End of the Hierarchy
The H6 is the final level of the standard HTML heading hierarchy.
- Structural Limit: There are no H7 or H8 tags. If you need further nesting, use lists or other grouping elements.
- Consistency: Ensure that the H6 is used consistently for the lowest level of detail across your site.
WCAG Requirement: Info and Relationships
Success Criterion 1.3.1 (Level A): Information, structure, and relationships conveyed through presentation can be programmatically determined.
Even at the lowest level, headings provide essential structural landmarks for assistive technology.
